NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) — La Crosse County
An organization of families and friends of persons living with severe mental illnesses such as schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, bipolar, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, borderline personality disorder, and obsessive compulsive disorder. NAMI's mission is to support families, educate them and the community about mental illnesses, advocate for those living with mental illness, and to reduce stigma through education and understanding.

We educate others that suicide is a preventable public health problem. We advocate for mental health insurance parity and suicide prevention.

NAMI Family-to-Family Education Program
A free, 12-week course for family members to learn about mental illness and how to care for their loved ones and themselves.

Family-to-Family Support Group
The Family-to-Family Support Group is for people living with people who have a mental illness. It is not appropriate for the family member who has the illness. All graduates of the Family-to-Family education class are eligible to attend. So is anyone else who has a family member with a mental illness.

Disability Rights Wisconsin (formerly Wisconsin Coalition for Advocacy)
A statewide resource for individuals, families, service professionals and others concerned with disability issues. Designated by the Governor to ensure the rights of all state citizens with disabilities through individual advocacy and system change, the private nonprofit group is part of a national system of federally mandated independent disability agencies.
